Amal Easton, owner of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Boulder, trained and competed in Brazil before bringing his favorite martial art to Boulder. "Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is like playing chess with your whole body," describes Easton. "It's one of the only martial arts that gives you the option to control your opponent without hurting him." Easton adds that Brazilian jiu Jitsu is a self defense tactic and evolved into a sport. Those who take classes at Easton's facility, however, have a varitey of motives - self defense, exercise, competition - and can select from different levels of classes.
